What We Do
Over the Top Therapy is a sister-run private practice specializing in developmental and rehabilitative care. We provide occupational, physical, and speech-language therapy services to clients in-home across Southeastern and South Central Connecticut and at our clinic in Gales Ferry, CT. Whether we come to you or you come to us, our mission is to help you access the life you've always dreamed of and to have fun while doing it!
Why We Do It
Emily started Over the Top Therapy to redefine what therapy can be—flexible, human-centered, and rooted in joy. Driven by her belief in the power of purposeful play, we are committed to meeting individuals where they are and transforming their favorite activities into meaningful opportunities for growth. At Over the Top Therapy, we believe that therapy should feel motivating, relevant, and deeply personal—for kids and adults alike.

Why Over the Top
The phrase Over the Top was first used as an acronym for our last name, Ott. We couldn't believe how fitting it was for us, who had learned from our parents that sometimes you just need to inflate a bouncy castle in the dining room or bring your whole mattress into the front lawn to watch a meteor shower. Since our parents taught us to live our life to the fullest, we want to help you do the same.

Meet the Owner
Emily Ott, OTR/L
Emily has been in practice since 2017. Her career highlights have involved working in Alaska schools, performing house calls, utilizing horses and nature for therapy, and working as a hospital-based pediatric clinician.
Emily has certifications in SOS feeding therapy, advanced visual vestibular interventions, rotator cuff rehab, sensory integration, astronaut training protocol, therapeutic listening, and total motion release.
She also has experience collaborating with vision therapists and optometrists as well as with dynamic balance, stability, strength, and upper extremity rehabilitation.
Emily enjoys almost any activity outdoors including horseback riding, backpacking/hiking with her dog, skiing, kayaking, sailing, and boating. Sometimes she also likes quiet days with a cup of tea and a heated blanket.
